Drainage of Johor Port

Johor Port is an integrated multi-purpose port facility located at the southern tip of Peninsula Malaysia. The port terminal currently has a total area of 1,000 hectares, of which 660 hectares are designated as free zone. With 24 berths and a total length of 4.9 km, the Port of Johor’s services and facilities include the container terminal, bulk and break bulk terminal, liquid terminal and warehouse facilities.

Solid drainage solution for Johor Port requested

The port has two “Goliath cranes” (the largest in Southeast Asia) that can be moved on tracks in two directions with the loads they pick up. The drainage trenches should be installed right next to the tracks to keep them dry and prevent flooding. The drainage system should therefore not only have a high capacity, but also be particularly stable and corrosion-resistant. Since there should not be many outlets, a long channel run was required. In addition, the system should have a u-profile with covers for easy maintenance of the channels.

The choice fell on RECYFIX SUPER channels with ductile iron covers from HAURATON, whose smooth inner surface and u-shaped channel profile ensure higher hydraulic drainage capacity and less dirt deposits. The system is durable and 100% corrosion resistant. To enable a particularly high hydraulic performance, the channel runs were installed in 3 levels one above the other. The client was very pleased with the choice of drainage system and the close technical support provided on site by HAURATON Asia’s drainage specialists.
